Kiwa Takishusungan (twn)

Kiwa Takishusungan is a Taiwanese Indigenous vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. Of both Bunun and Paiwan identity, she has been immersed in Bunun traditional music since childhood and is also a practitioner of the Paiwan nose flute. Using voice, piano, percussion, and Indigenous traditional instruments as her mediums, she works through interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and contemporary artistic forms to preserve and interpret Taiwanese Indigenous music through the voice of a contemporary woman.

This performance is followed by the evening's main concert INDIGENOUS VOICES: Third Spaces Collective.
